coffee spot: Omotesando Koffee

This month’s recommendation: Omotesando Koffee.

The coffee from Omotesando Koffee London is probably still one of the best coffees I’ve had to date.

Finding this coffee house isn’t a chore; located in the heart of Central London, its nearest tube stations are either Tottenham Court Road or Oxford Circus, so take your pick.

Initially founded in 2011, Eiichi Kunimoto opened Omotesando Koffee in Tokyo’s Omotesando area. Located within an old building, the coffee house became a sensation for its Japanese tea ceremony-inspired approach and meticulous attention to detail for brewing.

Its London branch opened in 2018, and follows a minimalist interior style; with timber and concrete accents. The space feels airy, with a timber-framed cube counter featuring at the heart of the coffee house.

If you’re after a caffeine fix you won’t be disappointed. There is an offer of small bites available: Kashi - I believe they’re cubes of baked custard. However, if you are after more in the food department, there are many eateries minutes walk away in Soho and Chinatown.
